Meet Blaze: A New Year’s Day Pet Adoption That Became Part of Our Story

Meet Blaze — our silly, chaotic, endlessly curious tabby cat and the cat who currently runs our household (and believes everything we do is under his supervision).

Blaze came into our lives on New Year’s Day, which feels especially fitting. We adopted him from Heaven on Earth | Perry's Place at a local PetSmart, just a few months after we said goodbye to our beloved (and gloriously chunky) black cat, Seeker.

We weren’t planning to adopt again so soon.

Our hearts were still healing, and our home still felt quieter than it should. But the moment we met Blaze — playful, curious, and completely unbothered by our emotional resistance — it was clear he had already decided we were his people.

And honestly? He was right.

Life With Blaze (a.k.a. The House Manager)

These days, Blaze fully believes he is in charge.
His daily responsibilities include:

  • Stalking us from behind furniture like a tiny jungle predator
  • Begging for treats as if he’s never been fed (he has)
  • Supervising candle scents with intense judgment
  • Reminding us who actually runs the household

He’s equal parts chaos and comfort — the kind of cat who makes you laugh unexpectedly and somehow knows when you need a little extra warmth nearby.

Where Blaze Fits Into the Meep Meep Story

Our cats have always been the heart of Meep Meep & Co.
Seeker — whose spirit lives on through our logo and illustrations — is the reason Meep Meep exists at all, and Blaze is our daily reminder of why continuing that mission matters.

When we started Meep Meep, we wanted to create products that felt safer and more thoughtful for pet-loving homes. But more importantly, we wanted our business to have purpose — one that reached beyond candles and into the lives of animals still waiting for their forever families.

Giving Back, One Candle at a Time

That’s why a portion of every Meep Meep purchase is donated to help support cat rescues and adoption efforts — helping more cats find safe homes, warm beds, and humans who adore them as much as we adore ours.

When you adopt a Meep Meep candle, you’re not just bringing something cozy into your home.
You’re helping turn love into action and giving another rescue cat the chance to start their own new chapter.

Blaze’s story began on New Year’s Day — a reminder that sometimes the best beginnings are the ones we didn’t plan for at all. 🐾💜
