  • Congrats! You’ve just adopted a Meep Meep candle.

It won’t beg for food at 3am, knock things off your shelves, or judge your life choices (probably)… but it does need a little care. Following these tips helps your candle burn cleanly, last longer, and stay cozy and safe in your home.

    🐾 Trim the Wick

Before each burn, trim the wick to ¼ inch to keep your candle burning cleanly and evenly.

    🐾 First Burn Is Important

On the first burn, allow the wax to melt all the way to the edges (about 3–4 hours). This helps prevent tunneling and ensures an even burn for the life of the candle.

    🐾 Burn in Moderation

Limit each burn to no more than 4 hours at a time. This helps reduce soot and extend candle life.

    🐾 Safe Placement

Always burn on a flat, heat-safe surface, away from drafts, children, and pets.

    🐾 When to Stop Burning

Discontinue use when about ¼ inch of wax remains for safety.

🐾 How to Safely Put Out Your Candle

We always recommend using a candle snuffer to extinguish your flame instead of blowing it out. DO NOT USE LID TO EXTINGUISH FLAME.

Blowing out a candle can send hot wax splatter, smoke, and soot into the air — and in pet-loving homes, that’s not ideal for curious noses, whiskers, or paws. A snuffer gently cuts off oxygen, putting out the flame without excess smoke or airborne particles.

    Why we love snuffers:

    • Reduces smoke and soot
    • Helps keep the wax surface clean and smooth
    • Prevents hot wax splatter
    • A safer option around pets (and humans!)

Once extinguished, allow the candle to cool completely before replacing the lid. When not in use, pop the lid back on to keep out dust, cat hair, and the tiny overlords who run the house.

    🐾 Hand-Poured Character

Each candle is hand-poured. Minor variations in color or texture, including frosting & wet spots are normal and do not affect performance.

    • Always store your candles in a cool, dark area to prevent discoloration

    Pet-Friendly Note:

While our candles are thoughtfully formulated for pet-loving homes, no candle can be guaranteed risk-free. Always burn responsibly, ensure good ventilation, and keep candles out of reach of pets. If your pet has known sensitivities, we recommend discontinuing use.

If your cat has a talent for getting into everything, a candle warmer or lamp is a great way to enjoy your candle without ever lighting the wick.

  • Good for your home. Thoughtful for your pets. Kind to cats in need.

Big-box candles are designed for mass appeal.

Meep Meep candles are designed for real homes — especially the ones ruled by cats. 🐾

    Here’s what sets us apart:

    🐾 Pet-Conscious by Design

Our ingredients are thoughtfully curated with cats (and dogs) in mind. We use premium olive-oil–based and coconut waxes paired with phthalate-free fragrance oils, and we intentionally avoid ingredients commonly flagged as problematic for cats.

No shortcuts. No trend-chasing. Just careful formulation.

    🐾 Clean Ingredients, With Transparency

We don’t believe in mystery ingredients — or buzzwords without backup.

Every fragrance oil we use is reviewed for safety and transparency, including its SDS and IFRA documentation, before it ever makes it into a candle. We intentionally choose formulations made without dyes, parabens, added formaldehyde, nitro or polycyclic musks, Lyral, or intentionally added CMR-classified ingredients, and we only use them at conservative, industry-approved levels.

Clean ingredients shouldn’t be confusing. We keep it honest, clear, and easy to stand behind.

🐾 Designed for Living, Not Overpowering

Our candles are formulated to smell beautiful without taking over the room. They’re meant to feel cozy, comforting, and lived-in — not loud, head-pounding, or overwhelming.

🐾 Tested in a Real Cat Home

Every candle is tested in our own cat- and dog-filled home before it ever reaches yours. If it doesn’t pass the “would I burn this next to my own pets?” test, it doesn’t make the cut.

This real-world testing is paired with intentional ingredient screening and conservative formulation standards — because your home deserves both heart and care.

🐾 Supporting Small Businesses (Just Like Ours)

When you purchase a Meep Meep candle, you’re supporting more than just one small business. From our wax and fragrance suppliers to our packaging, printing, and production partners, each candle supports over a dozen independent makers and small businesses who help bring it to life.

🐾 Smells Good. Looks Good. Does Good.

Every Meep Meep candle is part of our Adoptable Candle mission. A portion of every purchase helps support cat rescue efforts — so when you adopt a candle, you’re not just bringing home something beautiful… you’re helping another kitty find their forever home. 💜✨

    🐾 Bottom Line

    Meep Meep candles aren’t mass-produced.

They’re intentionally crafted — for pet lovers who want candles that feel good to burn, good to gift, and good to stand behind.

  • Yes! All of our candles are made without animal-derived ingredients and are considered vegan. We also do not test on animals — and we choose to work with suppliers who share that same commitment. We love animals far too much (especially the four-legged, whiskered kind) to do it any other way. 🐾💜

  • Yes! We offer custom candles for meaningful moments big and small.

Whether you’re planning a wedding, celebrating a milestone, honoring a loved one, or creating a pet memorial, we can design custom candles with laser-engraved wooden lids to make your candle truly personal.

Because every custom project is unique, we handle these on a case-by-case basis to ensure the best results and timeline.

  • If you notice what looks like light patches, white speckling, or a slight gap between the wax and the glass, you’re seeing something called frosting or spotting.

This is a totally normal characteristic of natural waxes like olive-oil–based wax and coconut wax — and it’s actually a sign that your candle is made with clean, plant-based ingredients (not paraffin or heavy fillers).

    Here’s what’s happening:

    • Natural waxes can react to temperature changes, especially during shipping
    • Cooler or fluctuating temps can cause subtle visual changes on the surface or edges, including slight cracks in the wax
    • These effects are more noticeable in certain colors or finishes

    The important part:

This does NOT affect how your candle burns or smells. Your candle will still perform exactly as intended.

We carefully inspect every candle before it ships and won’t send anything with major visual issues. That said, once a candle leaves our hands, we can’t control Mother Nature or delivery trucks — so minor frosting that appears in transit is considered a normal part of working with natural waxes.

Think of it as a little reminder that your candle is hand-poured, small-batch, and made the honest way — quirks and all. 💜🐾

  • Most orders ship within 2-3 business days. During sales or holidays, processing times may be slightly longer. Custom orders will vary.

  • Meep Meep only allows one discount/promo code per order, so if you're trying to apply more than one, that would be why! (For example, you can't use both a free shipping code and a 10% discount on one order.) Most of our discount codes can only be used once per customer, so if you've already used a specific promo code, that may be why it isn't working. We may on occasion offer limited bundles. Discounts are only valid on individual candles, so they cannot be used on purchases of bundles, etc.

  • Yes — we offer an affiliate program for select animal-focused partners, including cat creators, rescues, and cat cafés. Email info@shopmeepmeep.com if you think it’s a good fit.

  • Please refer to our return policy page.

  • Are your candles safe for cats?

We get this one a lot — mostly because our Meep Meep mascot insists on being part of the conversation 🐾

    Here’s the real scoop:

    • Our candles are made with premium olive-oil–based & coconut waxes and premium non-toxic phthalate-free fragrance oils.
    • We do not intentionally formulate with pine, eucalyptus, tea tree, or heavily concentrated essential oil blends commonly flagged as problematic for cats.
    • Every candle is tested in our own cat- and dog-filled home before it ever makes it to yours — and we’ve seen no adverse reactions in real-life use. This testing is paired with intentional ingredient screening and conservative formulation standards.

Because every pet is unique (just like people!), we always recommend:

    • Burning candles with good airflow
    • Never leaving a lit candle unattended
    • Keeping candles out of reach of curious whiskers and tails

    Bottom line:

We design our candles to be pet-conscious, non-toxic, and thoughtfully formulated — with honesty always coming first.

If your cat has a talent for getting into everything, a candle warmer or lamp is a great way to enjoy your candle without ever lighting the wick.

    Pet-Friendly Disclaimer:

While our candles are thoughtfully formulated for pet-loving homes, no candle can be guaranteed risk-free. Always burn responsibly, ensure good ventilation, and keep candles out of reach of pets. If your pet has known sensitivities, we recommend discontinuing use.
